Big Girl Bedrooms

Well, it's official...my baby has a big girl bed!
I don't know if it's because she's my last baby, but it went by SO fast!  It makes me a little sad.
Here is what her nursery looked like...
You can see the whole transformation from office to nursery HERE.

This weekend I sold her crib and the brown hutch to make room for a full size bed.
I'm  just waiting for her bedding to arrive.  I'm  so excited...let's just say there are a few ruffles on it!!

Here are a few beautiful little girls rooms that I love:

These rooms are all so adorable!
 I think the bedding makes such an impact on a bedroom.

Halloween Past and the crap I'm living with right now - Show and Tell Friday!

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday! I've been busy watching the Giants in the World Series this week so I'm going to share some old Halloween décor photos from last year!

It was fun last year, pulling things from all over to make a pretty Halloween vignette!

I took some of these decorations to work this year and decorated my cubicle!

This year at home I haven't put any

A Touch Of Fall In The Living Room...

Our living room is all ready for Fall...
 I love decorating with the mini pumpkins!
 This is on the table in our entryway.
Our piano...
 I filled the glass jars with candy corn.
I'm loving my lantern, it's fun to fill it up with decorations for the holidays...
 I hung a wreath with burlap on the mirror.
I spent the last few days painting trim and it's been a nightmare!  The tape leaked through, so I'll be doing MORE touch-ups and then I'll show you my living room makeover.
Did you notice I spray painted the mirror gray too?
Painting is a pain, but really does make a difference in a room.
Happy Fall!

A New Soup Tureen - Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday! A nice neighbor of mine that has never read my blog or never been in my apartment saw this soup tureen at an antique store bought it for me! He's only walked by my apartment before but he thought it looked like something I might like.

I'm on a main walkway so everyone can see in!  I told him I feel like I live in a fishbowl so on my birthday he gave me

Sweet Potato Bread with Cinnamon-Honey & Cranberry Spread

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dollar General. All opinions are 100% mine.

What is your favorite place to shop when you need to buy a few groceries but you don't want to deal hustle and bustle of the busy super markets?

For me, it's the local Dollar General.

I tend to get stressed out in crowded areas and unfortunately the super markets in my town are always crowded.

Fall Decor In The Kitchen

I  usually make our family room the "Halloween" Room...
Then I just add a touch of Fall to the kitchen.
My little boy is always so excited about this time of year.  He came down and said, " I love how this side of the room is Halloween and the other side is Fall-ish!"
 It's nice to have some who appreciates the decorations!

Here is our "Fall-ish" kitchen...
 I kept it pretty simple.
 It's fun to add a pop of orange color to our kitchen.
 In the kitchen window,  I filled a couple of mason jars with candy corn and added a few fall twigs to the jars.  Then I tied a burlap ribbon around them.
 It's simple, but makes me happy when I do the dishes!
 I really like having a little shelf as a part of our oven hood.
It's a fun place to decorate for the holidays!
 I love pumpkins!
This big one is actually fake, but I love how it looks real.
I added a few real pumpkins and fall leaves to a tray for the island.

 I decided to hang a wreath in my big kitchen window.
 Here is one more view of the corner.
Here is our dining area.
I do love how fall makes our house feel so cozy!
Are you ready for Fall?

Revisiting Autumns Past - Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!  One of the great things about blogging is going back through your own blog to get inspiration.  I found these old photos from 4 years ago at my old apartment. Oh how I miss my old place!  I've had nothing but problems at my new place!  I'm fairly certain I will be moving again once my lease is up in February. I hope I can find a place like my old apartment!

Money Saving Kitchen Remodels

I recently shared my kitchen remodel on Hometalk.
It is such a great place to gather ideas for your home! You can create a variety of "boards" to store your inspiration & ideas by specific topics.    Another great feature of Hometalk, is that you can also post questions.
 I was so excited when they contacted me and asked if I would curate a board called Money Saving Kitchen Remodels.  It was so easy to find inspiration!
Kitchen remodels can be expensive, but here are some wonderful ideas that can help you keep the cost down.

{Paint Your Cabinets}
 Traci, who has a blog called Beneath My Heart, made her kitchen beautiful with paint!
What a huge difference this makes!  It can totally change the look of the whole kitchen.

 {Create Open Shelving}
I love how Brittany, from the blog Pretty Handy Girl added a touch of color to her shelves!
She lined her cabinets with fabric covered foam. This would also be easy to change out for different holidays!

{Change The Hardware}
On the blog Vintage Farmhouse, She found these knobs at Hobby Lobby for a dollar!
This is such a cheap and easy way to add character to your kitchen!
Her whole kitchen makeover is amazing and she did it all for under $200!

 {Paint Your Table & Chairs}
On the blog Start @ Home, she painted her dining room set and it turned out beautiful!
It totally brightened up the whole kitchen!

{Add Custom Crown Molding}
Katie from My Diy Habits, made a HUGE difference in her cabinets by adding $50 worth of crown molding.  It looks great!

Last but not least,
{Adding Prefabricated Cabinets}
I love how Christina's Ikea kitchen from
The DIY Mommy turned out, it's just beautiful!
This kitchen looks amazing and I know from experience that it can save you quite a bit of money!
Our contractor explained how he did two kitchens, one with Ikea cabinets and the other one was custom built.  The custom kitchen cabinets cost double and he said you couldn't really even tell a difference.

You can find more great ideas on Money Saving Kitchen Remodels on
Hometalk Here.

You can also find me SallyLoveOfHomes on Hometalk.  I would love you to follow along as we continue to make our "House a Home, One Project at a Time!"

Halloween Decor 2014

Our great room is all ready for Halloween!
It is one of our favorite times of the year!
I love our new fireplace, the white background makes all of the decorations show up so well!
If you'd like to see our fireplace transformation, you can see it HERE.
 I got the witch years ago on clearance from Tai Pan, the skull candles are a new addition this year and I found them at Michael's.  I made the paper bats and stick them on with the blue painters tape, that way it won't pull off my paint when I take them down.

Every morning, My 7 year old comes down for breakfast and says, "Eat, Drink & Be Scary" in his vampire voice!

Here is another view from the kitchen.
Here is my bookshelf all decorated for Halloween!
I actually cut up an old cardboard box to fit the backs and wrapped them in wrapping paper.
I've been using the same ones for about 3 years!

My sister gave me an "early" birthday present this year and gave me the books & potion bottle, I love them!
My kids are really into potions!
This is our favorite candy dish "mummy"!
 I've had him for over 10 years, we've had to glue the nose back on a few times, but he still looks cute!!
 Happy Halloween!!

Cupcakes and my new KitchenAid muffin tins - Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!  It seems like everyone is having a birthday lately!  It was my birthday last week along with many other people I know.  My friends and I at my apartment decided to have a "Libra" party because there are so many of us with birthdays around the same time. We had a potluck BBQ and I signed up to bring cupcakes!

The timing was perfect because the nice folks

How to Print Double-Sided on Any Printer

I have been working on a few half-page printables that I am so exited to share with you! However, since most of the printables I have made work better if they are printed double-sided, I thought I would share a tutorial on how you can print double-sided on any printer.

Start by drawing an arrow (in pencil so that you can erase it later) on a piece of paper. Place your paper in the printing
