The Tiny Apartment Kitchen - Show and Tell Friday
Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!
I've been in my "new" apartment since February. I can't believe how fast the time has flown by! I've been here almost 5 months already which means I'm halfway through my 10 month lease! My lease is 10 months but my rent can't go up until I've been here 12 months, and since I have to give 30 days notice before I move out I only have about 6 months

Fast & Easy Way To Husk Corn...
When I was a kid, it was always my job to sit on the back porch & peel all the husks off the corn for dinner.
It wasn't a very fun process & all the little "hairs" would stay stuck to the corn.
Then my mom received the best tip from my brother-in-law who worked in the produce department at the time.
You'll never peel the husk off of your corn any other way!
It's amazing how easy it just rolls off!
Don't you just love summertime?
We've had fresh corn on the cob for dinner at least once a week lately!

How to Organize for $0.00
Many people have the misconception that organizing has to cost a lot of money. However, I have done a few organizing projects that cost little-to-no money at all. Such as my kitchen drawer organizer that I made for under $2 and how I recycled baby food jars to organize my spices.
I've gathered a few other wonderful ideas to help get you organized using items that you would normally throw

HOME INVENTORY - View & Print
How many of you keep a home inventory list?
Many people don't think about creating one list until it's too late. If anything were to happen to your home (e.i. fire, flood, burglary), it is likely that your insurance company will ask for an inventory of everything that was taken or destroyed. Having an up-to-date home inventory list already on hand

My Little Apartment Patio - Show and Tell Friday
Welcome to Show and Tell Friday! My little patio is still a work in progress but I thought I would share some photos with you. I don't get much sunlight here so my plants aren't doing as well as I would like. The only sunlight I get is in the earlier evening which is when these photos were taken. (oops, I forgot to put the broom away before I took these photos!)
Here is the
Recycle, Reuse and Organize.
...these are a few of my favorite things. Of course I am sure that you have already guessed that if you have been following this blog for a while. But one thing that I love more that recycling or organizing is combining the two things. I love being able to take something that would normally be thrown away and reuse it to organize my home, my family, my work area, or just life in general.

Fireplace {REVEAL}
Way back in January we started our kitchen remodel & this extended into our great room.
Our kitchen still isn't done, but our great room is finished!
The fireplace is now a beautiful focal point that completed the whole kitchen remodel.
Our kitchen is white, so this connected the two areas and made the whole space look amazing!
This is definitely one of my favorite parts of the whole remodel...My fireplace turned out so beautiful!
BEFORE:
AFTER:
Can you believe this is even the same room?
BEFORE:
AFTER:
I am completely amazed at the transformation.
The herringbone tile on the fireplace is SO beautiful...
It looks so unique...
I actually found all of the tile at Lowes.
It is part of the Allen & Roth brand.
The planked wood is so gorgeous that I've been afraid to hang anything up on the mantel.
I've had a clock for about a month that has just been sitting on the floor.
Last night, I finally asked my husband to help me out. He did not want to ruin the wood with nail holes either.
We were trying to figure out how to hang a nail between the cracks.
He was so nervous about ruining it, that he actually called our contractor and asked what he thought we should do?
He saved the day and had a nail thin enough to fit between the cracks without damaging the wood!
Here it is decorated...
I decided to go with a beach house feel!
It makes me happy!
Isn't that woodwork gorgeous?
I still have to pinch myself when I walk in this room, Is this really MY house??
I sure love a great Before & After...
It's amazing what a little woodwork & paint can do for a room!
***Update***
Our kitchen is finally done too!
If you'd like to see the before & after, you can find it HERE.

A Kitchen Remodel {Update}
Our kitchen actually looks like a kitchen!
We have moved everything back in and it's a functioning kitchen again!
We are now waiting on the oven hood & corbels to be built.
We are now waiting on the oven hood & corbels to be built.
We also have a few baseboards that need paint & then we are DONE!!
It has taken so long, I'm not sure I believe it will ever really be finished.
We have been wanting to remodel our kitchen for almost 10 years and it was worth the wait.
It looks amazing!
It looks amazing!
Do you remember this POST about what I wanted to incorporate into the remodel?
Well here are a few pictures of our new kitchen:
I got my farmhouse sink...
My garbage can drawer...
It's white...
In this post I shared where I had purchased my faucet and pendant lights. This post has a link to where my stools were purchased.
This is how they look in my house...
I love this sink!
The pendant lights look better than I thought they would!
The stools fit perfectly under the island!
One of my favorite parts of the whole remodel is my fireplace in the great room.
It is such an amazing before & after. It totally transformed the whole room.
Here is a little sneak peek...
The tile was a little time consuming to install.
I felt bad when it took a few days to finish, but it turned out beautiful!!
I can't wait to post the big final reveal, it's a drastic change!
I haven't been the best blogger lately, but I hope you enjoyed the update!
