I decided this week to display some of my shells...something I've been wanting to do ever since I put away my Easter decor but just haven't got around to it!  My poor coffee table was looking so bare...well, not really I had about a million magazines piled on top of it! My daughter and I were in a small mall by our place looking for work shirts for her. She just got her first job as a server in a restaurant and has to buy her own button down dress shirts. We stopped in the Burlington Coat Factory which isn't a store we usually shop in but she found two great work shirts and as we were walking to the cash register

Allen's Home in Hawaii - Show and Tell Friday

I know almost everyone that visits my blog is into Shabby Chic style but this week I'm sharing my boyfriend's second home in Hawaii which is not Shabby Chic but it's an amazingly beautiful place that I think anyone could appreciate!  I've been here twice since March and I've shared some of it previously but today I thought I would share some more of it.

As you can see, my hydrangeas are blooming!  A few months back...I think it was around February I pulled out my lace-cap hydrangea that I planted when I first moved here 10 years ago and replaced it with this Nikko Blue Hydrangea.  I just wasn't happy with the blooms on the lace-cap and I've always wanted a Nikko Blue. I'm so happy I did this! This

Hawaii - Show and Tell Friday

I've been in Hawaii for the past week and got home in the wee hours this morning (Wednesday).  We were supposed to get home last night but our flight was delayed.  I usually do my Show and Tell posts on Wednesday evenings so it can go up at 6pm Pacific Time on Thursday evening.  Since I've had very little sleep (I went to sleep sometime after 3am) and had

Backyard Inspiration...

Let's just say we have projects going on all over our yard, yet none of them are complete!! 

 I'm feeling the anxiety...

The first project was started over a month ago! 

We have a large side yard that is never used, so we are going to move the fence flush with the house & make that space part of  the backyard.

It has turned into a bigger project than we anticipated & we are now going to level the whole trampoline area so it's flush with the playset.  It will also make it so the trampoline will sit level and will be flush with the grass.

We are hoping it will look something like this...

Next, we are dealing with broken sprinklers & it looks like a pipe broke under the cement of our RV pad!  :(

Then our front flower bed has been infested with this vine that strangles all of the other plants & spreads everywhere, so we have started digging all of that out!  

So needless to say....I needed some inspiration!

I would love to connect the play set area & grassy trampoline area with some type of arbor...

Well I guess it's now time to quit dreaming & actually get something done!!

Our kids put together all of their allowance money last summer & bought the trampoline...Let's hope there dream becomes a reality before THIS summer is over!
