Diy Pineapple Planter From A Recycled Plastic Jar

For this project I recycled a whey protein container but any large plastic jar will work. Start by removing the label. I soaked mine in water to make the label easier to remove.

Once the label is removed, use goo gone to remove any glue left on the jar. For a safer option you can also use olive oil and a scour pad.

Now paint your container. Once it's dry you can start

"Dreamy" Living Rooms...

This is the time of year for spring cleaning, but it's also a time when a lot of people begin remodeling projects.
We recently finished remodeling our
kitchen and family room.
It seems that once you start remodeling one room, it kind of keeps spreading throughout the house!
Our newly remodeled space felt so bright and fresh that we decided to continue the paint and trim work into our living room.
You can see more HERE.
Living rooms are often a popular room to remodel because it is usually the first room people walk into when they enter your home.
When I start a remodeling project, I always begin by searching for my "inspiration".
I usually head to Pinterest and I recently came across the home design website Laurel & Wolf.

Laurel & Wolf is born from the idea that great design transforms the way individuals work, live, and love. Their online interior design service connects anyone looking to design their space with a marketplace of professional interior designers, and after four easy steps, clients receive a personalized, beautiful design package. You can learn more about the process here: .

Also, make sure you check out Laurel & Wolf's
Instagram and Pinterest accounts to get more ideas!

Here are a few elements my "Dream" living room would incorporate...
1- I think choosing the right paint color is one of the easiest ways to make a huge impact on a room.
I love a room that feels light and bright!

2- Choosing furniture to fit your needs and style is also important.
I love furniture that is classic and comfy.

3- My dream space would include some tufted furniture, just like the picture below.
This room is beautiful and the couch and bench are just my style!

4- I would also incorporate a few accent chairs to my room.
It's a great way to add additional seating and a good place to sit and read a book.

5- My "dream" space would also have woodwork.
It could include beams, a planked ceiling, a shiplapped accent wall or chunky wood trim.
It adds such character to a home!

6- I would add built-ins to my dream living room.
It looks great and adds storage.

The most important part of my dream space is to have an area that is used often and shared with the people I love!

What elements would your "dream" living room include?

Beautiful Kitchen Backsplash Ideas You Can Do Yourself

Did you know the average backsplash cost $600 to $800 dollars for 20 sq ft. We are currently in the planning stages of our kitchen remodel and we are looking at around 40 sq ft of backsplash. AAAKK!! That's a minumum of $1200! So I have been looking into a few cheaper options. Here is what I found.

Spring Keeping with Gladiator GarageWorks

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Gladiator GarageWorks for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

When Gladiator GarageWorks asked me to team up with them to help promote their Spring Keeping Campaign, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to organize a few of my seasonal items stored in the garage.

These shelves were originally meant to be used for all of my gardening

Hanging Basket Wood Stand

Lacking a place outside of her home to hang a flower basket, Whitney from Shanty 2 Chick created a hanging basket wood stand. This would be a great weekend project and you could even save money and make one with reclaimed wood.

Fairy Garden Party...

In my last post, I showed you some fairy garden "Inspiration".
You can see it HERE.
Here is the fairy garden I put together for my daughter's birthday present....
It even has lights that glow at night!
I found a metal container at TJ Maxx and filled it with moss.
We added the blue rocks and made a river with them.
 (Also from the Dollar Store)
The mushroom house and swing are from Gordmans.
The tree house is from Hobby Lobby and the door actually opens, so her fairies can go inside!
We made the ladder with some branches from our yard.

She was so excited that she decided to have a fairy princess party!
We headed to the dollar store for supplies...
We bought each girl fairy wings, a crown and a wand!
They loved them!
When each girl arrived, we had a little Fairy Ceremony.  We had them each sit in the "Queen" chair and my daughter waved her wand and they each earned their fairy wings.
Then they had a fairy parade.

Next, we made mini-fairy gardens...
They turned out so cute and each girl got to take one home.
The buckets and grass are also from the Dollar Store.
I filled each bucket with tissue paper and topped them off with the grass.
I made each girl a tee-pee out of skewers and a flower napkin!
I found a package of little plastic fairies at Hobby Lobby and each girl picked out their own.
They each got a flower, some rocks, a butterfly and a mini dog!

My older daughter did face paint for each girl.
She painted a butterfly or a snowflake.
My sister was kind enough to model for us,
She even had a butterfly shirt on for the party!
Then we served cake, opened presents and then it was time to go home.
It was a success...
This "Fairy Princess" was sure happy!
I think her friends had a great time too!
