Inspiring Christmas Wreaths...

Our house is all decorated for Christmas!  You can see the tour of our home HERE.
I love to use wreaths when I decorate!
I was asked by BloomNation to share some of my favorite holiday wreaths.
If you have never heard of BloomNation, it's a flower delivery service that supports local florists through their online marketplace.

This is the wreath I used in my kitchen this year...
I love how it's simple, but adds just the right amount of color to the room.
It's just a foam wreath wrapped with red and white ribbon.  The added greenery at the top makes it a little more festive too!

I also like to use ribbon to hang a wreath...
I  took some greenery off of a garland and added the berries to the top of the ribbon to hide the nail.
Hanging a wreath over a mirror also looks beautiful and makes a great statement in a room.

Using Garland is another inexpensive way to make a few wreaths.
I did this last year and ended up with few wreaths for under $10.00.
You can see that post HERE.

You can also find more holiday wreath ideas on my Pinterest Board.

Glittered seashells - Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!

Unfortunately I have some sad news to share.  As many of you know I have been taking care of my ex-husband since he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last August.  I told him he was welcome to stay with us until he was not well enough to stay home alone and then we would have to put him in a nursing home.

Last week that time came...actually

Dollar Tree find: snack containers as small storage boxes

These are sold at Dollar Tree as 3 pack of Plastic Snack Containers with Lock-Top Lids. I haven't actually used them for that purpose though. I think they wouldn't be so great as a snack container because if you want to fill them up completely, when you open them up, it's possible that some of your snack will come spilling out of it, due to the way that the lid makes up about the top 1/3 of the container.

What I use them for, so far, are storage boxes, mostly for tiny electronic items, such as batteries, memory cards, and cables.

As you can see, they can fit quite a bit of stuff in them. I'd probably be able to fit in more memory cards if I took each card out of their individual cases, but since I don't actually have many more than that and they still fit inside, I kept them in their cases. In total, there are 10 memory cards/adapters of various sizes, two micro SD card readers, and one USB wifi adapter. The one in the middle has 10 AA and 2 AAA batteries, with room for a little bit more. The one on the right has a USB power bank, a USB car charger, 1 micro USB cable, and 2 lightning cables.

There were 3 packs of 3 at the time I bought these, but I only bought 2 of them since I didn't know how many I'd need or what they might be good for. I haven't seen them in the store since then, so maybe I should've bought them all because I have plenty more cables to store.

If you're actually looking for something that'd be good as a snack container, I'd probably get these instead because of their flip top lids. I've only seen them in store with Disney's Frozen characters on them and none of the plain ones. They're also only sold individually, so $1 each. If I could find the 2 packs of those in stores, I'd probably at least pick up one of them because they seem like they'd be perfect for snacking.

I Love Pie - Sweepstakes - Win a $100 Visa gift card

Confession…I LOVE pie! I love pie more than cake, candy, pastries, cookies or any other dessert!  I think for me it’s not only because it tastes good but because I grew up eating a lot of pie!  It seems to me that my grandma, who lived with us when I was little, was baking pies every week...I could be wrong but I know she made them at least every other week!  I think pie is my ultimate

Happy Thanksgiving - Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!  I hope all my American friends had a great one!

This week I'm sharing my Thanksgiving table.

This year I used a burlap runner and I really like how it adds a little rustic charm to a elegant table setting!

I found this large silver-plated tray at an estate sale last week for $5.00!  I polished it up and it now

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!

I usually decorate for Christmas the weekend after Thanksgiving but this year I couldn't wait to get my tree up!

I received an email recently that Tree Classics wanted to send me an artificial Christmas Tree!  I have been wanting an artificial tree for a few years now for many reasons.

I'm tired of the mess that

Autumn Mantel - Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!  I'm
back!

It's been over 3 months since my ex-husband was diagnosed with
pancreatic cancer and moved in with my daughter and I.  Over 3 months is
good...one doctor told him he only had about 6 weeks to live. The other
doctors said it's hard to say but at this point, it's weeks-months.  We
are taking it one day at a time.  He's doing okay now but

Thanksgiving/Fall Decor...

This year is zooming by, I can't believe we are already headed into the holiday season!
Before you know it, we will be decorating for Christmas.
I love Christmas, but I hate to skip by Thanksgiving.
We took our Halloween decorations down yesterday.
I had everyone in our family tell me five things they are thankful for...
We hung them in our kitchen on this board.
It's so fun to switch out pictures and quotes for different holidays.
I also loved hearing my kids' responses...my four year old couldn't stop listing things once she got started.
I love how she is thankful for unicorns, mermaids & butterflies!
This little corner is one of my favorite spots in the kitchen.
Here is our table...
I moved my lanterns that are usually on my fireplace to the table...
Then I placed these little turkeys inside.
It's a fun change.
This is the tray on our island...
Here is my view from the kitchen...
The family room...
I kept my fireplace really simple, but I love it!
 Happy Thanksgiving!

Diy Message Board Using Recycled Window and Neon Chalk Markers

When we purchased our 1960 farm house there were a couple old windows left up in the attic. I had the idea to transform one of the windows into a message board. When I was asked to review a set of liquid chalk markers, it seamed like the perfect opportunity!

How to transform an old window into a message board:

1. Give the window a good washing to remove the majority of the dirt. (I

Home Tour {My Favorite Parade Of Home}

I absolutely loved this house...
It's classic black and white, it has shutters, painted brick and a porch.
It was house #28 by Legend Homes.
I took a picture of almost every room, I'm ready to move in!
The wooden corbels, garage doors and lights make this home so charming!
Here is the entryway...
The sliding barn doors lead to the living room/office...
 Don't you love the ceiling?
This is the fireplace in the great room...
White painted brick...Beautiful!
Here is the gorgeous family room...
Look at that beautiful window and beamed ceiling.
The floor plan is so bright and open...
The only thing I might change is the railing on the staircase, it was a little too modern for me.
This kitchen...
It is SO unique...
The industrial style open shelving, the beautiful stove, the subway tile backsplash and oven hood make this so pretty!
This is the master suite...
Don't you love the accent wall?
 The master bathroom...
 I'm obsessed with the tile!
It also has a beautiful tub...
Once again...the tile!
Here is the loft upstairs...
It's a nice space for the kids.
This is one of the bedrooms upstairs...
I love how the walls have the same brick as the exterior and the fireplace.
This is an upstairs laundry room...

It's so charming with the wood walls, tiled floor and shelving.
This is the mudroom...
A great place to hang coats, backpacks and shoes.
The tile is AMAZING!
Here is a view into the bathroom...
Even the doorway is beautiful.
This house is filled with so many great details that add such charm.
In the backyard, there was another huge garage and a nice covered patio.
 This house was definitely unique.
I hope you enjoyed the tour!
